Welcome to the Horseshoe pub, one of the oldest pubs in Radcliffe, dating back 300 years!
Situated in Ringley, the Horseshoe which is opposite the River Irwell, is historically known as a scheduled stop for all Manchester-bound packets on the canal in times gone by. Landlords would gladly serve ale to the thirsty passengers before they continued their journey.
The Horseshoe offers delicious, homecooked food daily, which is all locally sourced within the area. We have a large variety of spirits, wines and cask ale, giving choice for all. With plenty of indoor space and a beer garden, there is room for all whatever the weather.
Today the Horseshoe is run by Eileen and Andy, who took over the pub back in 2017. They pride themselves on offering a warm and friendly welcome to drinkers and diners and can’t wait to welcome you into the pub.

Why visit The Horseshoe?
The Horseshoe is a well-placed pub, set within Ringley. From our doorstep, there are plenty of scenic walking routes, making us the perfect location for some post-walk refreshments and food! The Ringley Woods is a short 10-minute walk from the pub, where you can explore the ancient woodland and see some wildlife. The Kingfisher Trail and Rotary Way are poplar local walking routes, which can also be started from The Horseshoe.
